How to create a personalised photo calendar.

CalendarCreating a beautiful personalised calendar for yourself or as a gift for family and friends is very easy. It really is almost as simple as just drag and drop and experiment until you like what you see.

Follow the guide from here to create a calendar online that you can then purchase once you are satisfied with your handiwork. Then sit back and wait for the compliments from admiring friends and family to roll in.

Getting started

The first thing you need to do is log in to Eastmon Online upload your photos and select calendars from the main menu. I will presume you have already done this and are ready to go.

  1. Picture-9Select your theme and layout. The theme determines the initial border style and colour, you can change these things later if you don’t get it right. The layout determines the visual layout of the images on the page. For example the fun style lays the images out on angles on the page and the contemporary is a more formal layout style
  2. Picture-11The next step allows you to select the month to start your calendar ( very important if you are planning a coup and starting your own government ;-) ). Seriously though it does allow you to be creative with your gifts and calendars, imagine a calendar that starts on the month of your birthday or someone special. And of course don’t forget to select the year to start with. Pay careful attention to this as you have no one else to blame if you get it wrong.
  3. Picture-12Once you have selected the month and year an additional options box will open. First thing is to select your starting day of the week. You also have a choice of importing in public events, public events plus state events and private events. The private events are created further through the process and then held by the software to be included in subsequent calendars you may create. The private dates can be deleted or altered in the new calendars.
  4. Picture-13The fun begins now as this when I would usually choose a different background from one of the categories in the drop down menu which appears when you hover your mouse over backgrounds. Experiment here as much as you want until you are happy with your selection, if you don’t like it later you can change it again. Picture-14Once you have made your selection click on pictures and drag your first image over the top cover. Once you have done that it you have finished your cover and are well on the way. If you look closely at the calendar there are 3 buttons to the left of the next button. Selecting these allows you to magnify the particular page you are working on or view the whole calendar page.
  5. Picture-16After you have completed that click through to the first month and drag and drop the images you want on to the page. Picture-18To add a birthday or special event to a date simply click on a date and the personalise date box will appear. In to this you can add an image or an embellishment, maybe wedding rings to remind a certain person about a particular date. Give the event a name, ‘Harry’s Birthday’ for instance and if you want to remember this event fill in the appropriate boxes. This will then become one of the private events that will be remembered for future calendars if ticked. You may also want to choose a caption panel colour if you use colours to remember particulars events.
  6. Picture-19The final steps to personalisation of your calendar is to test different fonts and header colours, font colours and finally grid colours. Be careful as you go through this that in choosing a header (the month) or font colour it doesn’t blend into the background.

Now that you have mastered these steps you are well on the way to creating a masterpiece that will have others ogling at your brilliance and mastery of the digital age. One word of advice is to go through every page and recheck your dates and read everything you have entered, after all you don’t want the small oversight to ruin your day.
